When I started in autocross 7 years ago, few of the more experienced drivers were willing to give their time to show the ropes to the new guys. Things like how to walk the course, find “The Line,” and drive at speed (The Pace) took longer to learn. I wasted money and time classing and building cars in the wrong direction because I did not understand what it would take to to build a winner in a class.
I went to my regions local autocross school where there was little to no direction and just boiled down to taking a lot of passes in one day with no guidance about where I was fast or where I could go faster. Things changed when I got a national level co-driver and some one on one instruction. I moved from a mid-pack driver to being a guy the make adjustments to the car, change “The Line,” and look at in car video with data logging to learn where time was being left on the course.
As a CFI, I would never dream of training pilots in a group at the same time. By having a seasoned driver take a whole event with you from the course walk, co-driving your car, and breaking the day down with in car video and MAXQ data you will learn how to be faster and safer on course.
We sale and setup the equipment we use for customers, too. In car video and data logging seems over whelming, we can teach you to use it and help gain the edge over your competition with break downs after each run.
